Traveling fail #1 and #2

I guess I haven’t told you what was the first thing that happend at Arlanda when we just started our trip. Apparently my passport was a little bit torned in one of the corners so we had to rush to the police to get a new, temporary, one. Well, we succeeded and no further problems. After that the trip has gone nothing but easy and smooth. Until now. Yesterday we took the bus from Nairobi to Mbale. In Kisumu some guy told us the bus was waiting there for 30 minutes so we went to get some food and returned 20 minutes later. By then the bus had already left and we had to take a taxi to be able to catch up with it. Only to realise that we, by the time we reached Mbale, were at the completely wrong place. Mbale in Kenya and not Mbale in Uganda. To get to the right Mbale we had to wait for four hours, take the bus back to Kisumu, change to another bus, get off at the border and take a taxi from there. 21 hours later and not 9 as planned, we finally arrived at the right location. And here we are now!

A vacation in the vacation

We’re in Mombasa now, getting sunburned, drinking beer. Today we went snorkling in a small lagoon, Sven got stung by something and I got a second degree of skinburn (almost, at least). Tomorrow we’re heading back to Nairobi to take the bus to Mbale, Uganda, early friday morning. Got to go, tuktuk’s waiting. Ps, don’t forget to donate some money to the children in Uganda. You’ll find the link in our first post!
